Medal ratings
What we mean by British
British businesses and products can have different connections to the UK. A brand may be British-owned or headquartered here, while a product may be designed, assembled or manufactured in the UK.
We want to make these distinctions clear, helping shoppers understand what sits behind the products they discover. That is what medal ratings are for.
Gold · Made in Britain
Made in Britain by a British brand.
Silver · British brand or British-made
Either a British brand that makes abroad, or a global brand that makes in Britain.
Bronze · Assembled in Britain
A global brand that assembles or finishes the product in Britain, short of making it here.
Brands can never pay for a medal rating.
